"Lack of care"

About: Liverpool Womens Hospital / Gynaecology

(as the patient),

Well from the get go this has been an uphill battle.

I have had so many problems with my reproductive system; including severe episodes of psychosis due to PMDD.

I asked for a hysterectomy and was referred to the women’s because it’s affecting me so badly, I don’t want any more children and I’m transgender.

I had my appointment in early 2023 and shared all of this. I was laughed at by the consultant and told I was too young and would change my mind. The consultant then proceeded to ask my partner how he felt about it.

I was mortified to say the least. The consultant settled on getting me to monitor my cycles from January to the April and I would be seen again then.

I have still not been seen. I have called numerous times and feel like I’m consistently fobbed off with promises to call me back.

They do not seem to care and it’s disgusting.

When will the mistreatment of AFABs in medical settings be stopped?
