About: Gloucester City Health Centre

It’s impossible to get through, drs provide the wrong information to you regarding how the practice actually works. You’re told to only consult with one dr, but it’s nigh on impossible to see that same dr. You have to set aside an hour when calling through to try to even get a phone call appointment and even then there’s a possibility that you get hung up on and have to start again, appointments in person tend to be a 2-3 month wait, phone call appointments with a chosen dr can be weeks, if not months. The only quickest way to get seen or speak to reception is to visit in person. The removal of the online facility of asking questions adds to the dismay of using this practice. It’s why so many people from this practice end up using out of hours in the hospital instead.

Thank you for your feedback and I apologise that you have found it difficult to get through to us on the phone. We do have busy periods which can be impacted by staff absences. We are hoping to upgrade our telephone system in the near future to enable a call back functionality to save patients having to wait in a queue. We have also recruited a new team member in the reception team to help improve our capacity for answering calls during our busiest periods. We have increased our on the day capacity throughout the week for routine and urgent needs and we now offer Saturday Nurse appointments. We will continue to review our access aiming to make further improvements where possible.
