"Food portions"

About: Rampton Hospital

(as a service user),

The food that comes down from the main kitchen, the portions are too small, its not even filling us up. We still feel hungry afterwards.

The food is just the same all the time, they never give me aftrican carribean food which would be nice. We should have themed nights, like chippy and take away places.

We also need better fruits for super, we also have peers on the ward ( emerald ) that arent recieving their fruit in an evening.

Thank you for raising this. It would be highly beneficial to introduce this into the food and shop group. I am more than willing to assist you with this.

I am fond of the concept of themed nights. Please continue to share your fantastic ideas.

Thank you for your feedback about your meals.

All meals and portions offered to patients are assessed and nutritionally analysed to meet the nutritional requirements in line with the nutrition and hydration digest.

The trust is currently progressing with developing new patient menus and have recently received feedback from our patient groups on suggested new dishes, including themed nights, and current favourites. You feedback will also be included.

Fruit is available as part of the evening menu choice, and additional fruit is being sent to the wards to be available for supper such as apples, satsumas and bananas. Fruit is seasonal, you will likely, see a variety throughout the year on stock availability.

A wider range of fruit is also offered for sale in the patients shop.

Facilities colleagues attending patient groups will keep you updated on progress.
