Hello
My husband has a personal story about thousands of pounds being wasted in the NHS on multiple pairs of ill fitting orthopaedic shoes which have caused him a lot of problems with his feet that could have been avoided.
Wasted time, appointments, months of waiting for shoes only to be presented with an ill fitting pair at the end that were unfit for purpose and had to be redone on every single occasion. This has been ongoing and after 12 pairs of shoes it’s a serious problem for us and the NHS.
My husband has Charcot foot and the risk of ill fitting shoes is extremely dangerous and has caused him unnecessary, serious problems, disappointment and frustration.
The solution would be to let the person making the shoes take the measurements.
He would be more than happy to share his story to improve this area of the NHS.
"My husband’s NHS orthopedic shoe maker."
