I contracted pnenmonia from a virus , I had visited my GP 7 days earlier however it was felt no infection at that time
Having become increasing unwell I decided to get checked out again .My GP had no appointments left for the afternoon so I was signposted to UTC .
Within 3 hours of arrival I was on the IAC ward with antibiotics and pain relief .
Then followed after a day being transferred to ward9 .
The whole process was streamlined and professional . All the staff I came across worked together and were productive. The staff asked me what I needed with regards to personal care and responded appropriately . I was left at anytime unsupported or guessing
The cleanliness of all areas was super clean , the showers worked and in good repair .
Food was timely and acceptable bearing in mind I had no appetite
Communication from everyone who came to care for me was effective and compassionate, asking open questions and listening to my responses .They explained my situation and their reasons for admitting and treating me .
Updated me daily on my progress with regards to test results and discharge . I felt confident I was being well cared for .
