"Disappointing feedback"

About: The Bosmere Medical Practice

When trying to get a telephone consultation with a doctor at the Bosmere Medical Practice, I was instead given a link to register and book a video consultation using the Push Doctor App.

I spoke to a Push Doctor who listened to all my symptoms relating to an underactive thyroid - feeling very tired, aching and stiff muscles, feeling cold all the time and recently showing high blood cholesterol even though the doctor said it was not due to weight or diet and was probably genetic. I was not aware, since reading the Nhs Thyroid Symptoms Information, that with an underactive thyroid there is also a greater risk of high cholesterol. She was very helpful and gave lots of useful advice. After looking at my recent thyroid blood test results, she said she would arrange to have both the t4 and t3 thyroid levels checked.

I had this new thyroid blood test taken at The Bosmere Medical Practice. After ringing the surgery for the results, I was told that the Tsh and t4 levels were normal and the levels for t3 had not been taken. A doctor from the Practice then sent a text to say there was really no benefit to checking t3 levels.

I am disappointed that the t3 levels had not been checked and that they were not considered important, even though the Push Doctor had indicated that they were. My current prescription of Levothyroxine medication (100 micrograms) would therefore not be reviewed and my levels of thyroxine would continue to be monitored annually through blood tests even though I am still suffering from all the symptoms described above which can be linked to an underactive thyroid.

I was very satisfied with the service and information provided by the Push Doctor and the use of the Push Doctor App. However, I am very dissatisfied that The Bosmere Medical Practice have been unwilling to take into account the comments made by the Push Doctor.
