(as a relative),

I recently had to stay within the short stay (2F) to which it was not a very enjoyable patient experience for me.

The medical staff in particular consultant staff very unapproachable, lacks compassion, poor at communication especially when various teams involved with care. They are very much versed on bed capacity, short stay and driven for discharges. Furthermore at times I was made to feel stupid or belittled when asking a serious of questions about my health and well-being. 

However to finish on one positive the Nursing staff are lovely, approachable and attentive even under the horrible conditions and disrespectful behaviour they face 24/7.

My name is Linsey Sheerin, I am the Divisional Nurse responsible for Urgent and Emergency Care at Belfast Adult Emergency Departments. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Care Opinion. I am very sorry that your found medical staff unapproachable and that time was not taken to listen and discuss your concerns fully. I will ensure that this is fed back to the team. Despite your poor experiences thank you for taking the time time to write such kind words about the nursing staff, one again I will ensure that these are share with the team.
