My son was taken by my husband to A&E on Sunday night. He was seen quickly despite the department being busy.
The surgeon was called promptly, he arrived and had my son in surgery very quickly and within 3 hours of arriving at the hospital. The surgery, anaesthetic and recovery teams were fantastic. The surgeon was so good with my son and explained everything and set him at ease before his surgery. He called my husband straight after the surgery and kept us informed. My son thought the teams were funny and distracted him well. He was back in the kids ward by 4.30am and home by 1pm that day.
The children’s ward Band 4 nurse was so kind to us while we anxiously waited on him.
Well done everyone and thank you so much for your kindness, professionalism and humour even in the middle of the night.
