Invited to SPARKS group with Anna & Paul after diagnosis, medication and one-to-one occupational therapy.
The group setting and dynamic was extremely helpful. The experience was enlightening and validating. It was a great mix of learning verified research, sharing techniques and methods for managing symptoms along with getting that peer support, feedback and understanding.
This group was extremely helpful and I wasn't dreading coming every week.
Anna and Paul have unlimited amounts of patience and true understanding. You can tell they really want to help you and know your struggles. The even provided the option for movement breaks, coffee/tea, biscuits and even a variety of fidget toys.
The option to be able to talk or share things you relate to was invaluable. I think a lot of us will miss this group.
I think electronic resources/copies would be useful and maybe if there was an option for attendees to volunteer and meet for drop-ins to catch up in the space but it doesn't need to be staffed. If not, it might be handy for there to be a private Facebook group, moderated of course, so they can keep in touch if they don't want the pressure of meetups.
Thank you so much for offering me this treatment to meet like minded people and to connect with professionals who truly care and want to help.
