I had been referred to Employment Service during my schema therapy in 2022. My therapist back then made a referral on my behalf as I was going through a lot in my previous workplace. In 2019 I suffered from severe depression, anxiety, paranoia and symptoms of psychosis, while I was also under the Employment Service my IPS worker back then was Melanie, unfortunately I was not ready for any type of work, so me and Melanie decided to discharge me from the service and she said to me, that they are always for me in the future.
In 2022 I was already diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and been attending schema therapy. When I have been accepted by the Employment Service, I was allocated to a new IPS worker - Will.
I am nearly or just about 2 years under Employment Service, and I cannot describe how grateful I am for all the support and help I received through my time under this service. I felt it was hopeless that I could find a new job that wasn’t warehouse work, however Will helped me to find my dream job. I got a lot of help and Will spent a lot of time to prepare me for the interview and helped a lot with all applications.
I highly recommend employment service as they helped me while I was not strong enough mentally to face it by myself. I am so happy that for the first time in my life, I could feel happy in my workplace.
Employment Service and especially my IPS worker Will, not only helped me find my dream job, but also helped me to rebuild trust in people and gave me a lot of hope for my future. Giving me this job opportunity, I gained a lot of confidence to communicate with others, and finally I feel happy to go to work. I feel like the service gave me a new chance to start a new life. Of course, discharge can be hard, however my IPS worker made sure I am in the right hands 😊.
I would like to thank Will and the Employment service for all help and support you provided for me under your care. Thank you for opening so many doors for me. Thank you for helping me and now it’s time to help others!
"Thank you for opening so many doors for me."
