I had gone to my GP as I was feeling really low due to abuse as a child. I had had suicidal ideas and had tried this in the past
The GP who was lovely said she would try and refer me on to the community mental health team. I waited a month or so and the got a letter from them saying they would not accept a referral as my GP had not given them enough information about my current symptoms. I assumed they only needed more information.
I contacted my GP who told me they had given full information and unless I was a suicide risk would not even accept me on a waiting list.
The letter went on to give generic and useless information like be active or using apps
I feel abandoned and angry that a mental health team can have so little ethics as to refuse to even put me on a waiting list.
"Would not even accept me on a waiting list"
