My dad recently underwent a quadruple heart by-pass and was admitted to ICU post-op.
Whilst my dad was ventilated we as a family decided not to visit him at this point. During this time when we called the ward the nurses ensured we were kept fully up to date. The nurses were very kind and compassionate and offered a lot of reassurance to us during this worrying time.
I am aware of how busy the nurses are, taking care of such sick patients, but they always took the time to speak to us on the phone and offer their expertise knowledge to the family.
In a time where my dad was very unwell the nurses made us feel like he was getting very well looked after. Also a special thanks to Sarah, Jo and Veejay who were outstanding and a credit to the ward.
My dad is now home and is recovering well. Thanks again to all the staff and also to the surgeons who carried out this amazing surgery. We will be forever grateful.
