"My x-ray"

About: Caithness General Hospital / General Medicine

(as a service user),

I got an X-ray taken of my right Hip because I have had pain in it for 10 years since I had a bone graft taken from the hip.

I then queried the x-ray as the report said there was no damage to the hip, which I found miraculous, so I filled in the access form online and after weeks of waiting I received the image and found to my surprise that the image was of the full pelvis and there was no big bit of bone missing from the right hand side.

This image was not mine as the X ray that was taken was of the right hand side only it wasn't of the full pelvis and also there was no damage to the right hand side whatsoever. I have tried to get an explanation but there was nothing forthcoming.

Dear Right Hips of It,

Apologies for the delay in replying, this was due to annual leave.

Prior to going on leave, I did try and contact you several times after the Caithness General Radiographer passed your details onto me.

I was trying to arrange for one of our clinicians to talk through the images with yourself.

I won't leave any clinical details on my response for confidentiality reasons.

If you would like to chat through your case, please contact ourselves and I can arrange this for you.

Kindest regards

Stephanie Adlinton

Radiology Service Manager
