"Extremely disappointed with the aftercare"

About: St John's Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

I attended St John's Hospital in January for a colonoscopy due to chronic bowel problems. The staff on the day were fabulous, even when I had a difficult time being cannulated, and really put me at ease.

I am however extremely disappointed with the aftercare and lack of follow up. Though there were pathologies found on the scope that I was told about on the day, the medical team did not start me on any medication, and I certainly feel starting steroids would have helped me. I still have very bad ongoing symptoms which I have brought to the attention of my GP, and I have attempted to get in contact with the secretary of the consultant I am under, to no avail.

I did finally manage to get in touch with another secretary who gave me results over the phone, but said I will be passed onto another team. I have not heard from anyone since. I'm really disappointed as my symptoms are still ongoing and I feel like I am being passed back and forth with no team taking responsibility for my care.
