I attended ward 23b FVRH having broke both ankles . I stayed in this ward for 1 week whilst waiting on and recovering from an operation on one of my ankles. I felt scared as I had never felt pain like this before and not stayed in hospital for such a long time being completely reliant on the nursing staff to help me.
I would personally like to thank Faye (light blue NHS uniform) from 23b for being the most caring and empathetic person from the minute I arrived in ward till I left the hospital ward . With her help and encouragement I felt brave enough to move from the bed to a commode. She made me feel like a human being .
I would also like to thank Alison 23B ( light blue NHS uniform ) for her consistent and lovely care I received from her. She has a lovely manner and such a brilliant and caring way with people and nothing fazes her . Also for giving me a big cuddle and lots of positive vibes when I was sitting on the toilet scared stiff to go for my operation.
I would also like to thank Fiona ( also light blue NHS uniform) for being there for most of my stay , helping me have my first shower, getting me through the day with care and dignity . This lady was one of the hardest working ladies on the ward that I saw and never seemed to stop!
Quick mention to Sophie ( student nurse ) who I think might have done 2 night shifts while I was there . She was so caring with everyone in the ward and tried her best at everything she was asked . She will make a great nurse.
Lastly I would like to thank the domestics for doing thankless tasks everyday . They do their job with care, compassion and humour! One of the domestic ladies ( sorry I didn’t get her name) ( green serco uniform) in particular who cleaned our room the week I was there had the place spotless. Not easy keeping a room with 5 ladies clean and she managed it with great ease.
"I would just like to say thank you to the hard working staff"
