"Appreciation for Out-patient services"

About: Leighton Hospital

Anything else?

The Chief Executive, Leighton Hospital, Middlewich Road, Crewe, CW1 4QJ 25th October 2013 Dear Sir, Leighton Hospital In recent months my wife and I have needed the services of Leighton Hospital on a number of occasions and would like to express our appreciation for the excellent service we have received. In July my wife had surgery on her foot and the whole procedure was performed in most kind and helpful manner. From initial consultation, through X-rays, blood tests, pre-op, surgery in the Treatment Centre to follow-up with a Sister at Northwich Victoria Hospital we were seen promptly and everyone involved did their best to make things as easy as possible. More recently my wife suffered a T.I.A. and to our amazement after an emergency visit to our G.P. we had a hospital consultation the following day and this was followed rapidly by blood tests and an ultrasound scan. Finally during consultation she was told yesterday that her condition is being controlled and no further hospital visits are necessary. Again we were treated in a kindly and courteous manner throughout the whole episode. Even more recently I saw my G.P. because of possible colon cancer problems, (I had a colon resection in 2005), and too my amazement I had hospital consultation eight days later and only six days later had a Sigmoidoscopy. Then only two weeks later I had a CT Scan and I am seeing my consultant to hear the results next week. Once again we have been delighted by the excellent attitudes of all the hospital staff that have been looking after us. Finally we also want to express our appreciation for all the staff in the Audio department. We have both had out hearing tested again this year and the attitudes of everyone both in Leighton and in the Alsager clinic have been wonderful. They have always treated us with the utmost courtesy and have gone out of their way to make us feel that we matter to them and are not the nuisances that we often feel we are. We are both in our 80’s find it distressing when we hear so many complaints about the N.H.S. and feel fortunate that we have such high quality service from our own Hospital Trust. Yours sincerely June & Bob Wharne

Dear Mr and Mrs Wharne, whilst I am sorry that you have had cause to have to use Leighton hospital services over the past few months for a variety of reasons, I am delighted that you have found the various services you have encountered to be so helpful. I am pleased that we have provided you with a quality service and that you feel staff have been polite, respectful and treated you both well. I shall ensure your comments are shared with staff from the departments you have mentioned and I wish you both the very best in your future health. With best wishes, Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive.
