"Laryngeal cancer and a fabulous surgeon"

About: University Hospital Monklands / General Surgery (Wards 4 & 7)

(as the patient),

I was diagnosed in Nov 23 with laryngeal cancer and told I required a total layrngectomy and that Mr Crosbie at Monklands Hospital would be my surgeon.

From the day I met him he has always made me feel at ease. He is very patient-led, ensures I fully understand what’s happening and explains everything I need to know in a way I can understand it.

He’s not i only  a fabulous surgeon who saved my life but also a lovely person who gets to know his patients and their families and ensures everyone is comfortable with what’s going on around them.

Dear JBCH,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Monklands, General Surgery.

What wonderful praise for Mr Crosbie. After such a frightening diagnosis it is lovely to hear that you have been so well looked after by Mr Crosbie and his team. A knowledgeable consultant who takes the time to fully explain things to you, and has a patient led approach to their care is very reassuring and will, I am sure, have made you feel a little more at ease, despite the situation.

I would be delighted to share your kind words with Mr Crosbie, who I am sure will take great pride in hearing your feedback.

I hope that you are recovering well and wish you all the best in the future.

Kind Regards,

Jenni
