"A huge support and advocate"

About: Children's Specialist Health Services / Integrated Children's Nursing Team

(as a parent/guardian),

This is more than a review about community respiratory nurse Lorraine and her work ethic.

Ever since I had my baby almost 2 years ago, being able to feel like I can trust health professionals has been more than a struggle. It has been less than great and some of the experiences I have had are beyond words.

My son came into care team of Lorraine maybe just over a year ago and what a turnaround it has been, this amazing woman/nurse deserves every bit of recognition and credibility for the amount of not only effort she puts in with her patients but tries to put herself into that parents/patients shoes, which in itself is really hard to do.

Being in an industry that is demanding not only physically but mentally everyday can be very consuming to most but Lorraine is a person who sees and wants to do better. She wants to see the change for the better and is a huge support and advocate to not only me and my son but across  the board. There isn't enough people like Lorraine, she goes over and above, something which is unheard of these days.

The determination she has to help a situation and find ways in which she can help is something you can't teach ! This woman has heart and soul.

Before, I gave up on NHS, I gave up on hope for my son. But Lorraine has managed to save and salvage this thought because of her outstanding efforts that she puts in on a daily basis .

Lorraine deserves more than a well done at the end of a shift, she deserves more than just a thank you, she deserves more than just the overwhelming expectations she may have on her on a daily basis .

This woman is why the NHS continues to thrive, she is a credit not only to herself but to everyone that gets to work alongside her , she has passion and ambition and ideas that should be listened to.

I'm more than grateful that my son has been lucky enough to be involved with her and no words will ever show how thankful I am to her and the things she does .

Thank you Lorraine, never lose sight of the tremendous work you do everyday.

Happy Mum 1991

Thank you so much for your lovely words and details of the care and support you have received from Lorraine one of our Respiratory Nurse Specialists.

It is always a pleasure for me to hear such positive and heartfelt comments about the high standard of care and advocacy provided by the nurses in our service.

I will happily share your kind words with Lorraine and I am sure she will be delighted to know she has been recognised for making a difference for both you and your son.

I wish you both well for the future
