We as a family have been with the Silverdale Practice for 59 years since we moved to Burgess Hill and on the whole we have been very well looked after but over the last few years that has changed.
Today I managed to get an appointment after trying for two days and then having to visit the surgery, I am a very active 80 year old but many of my age are not and would find it very difficult to get to the surgery just to make an appointment when the other methods have failed.
The reason is not clear but it must be caused by multiple reasons, is it poor funding, I think not, not enough Doctors, possibly, lack of organisation, very likely.
The website is not fit for purpose, as it does not work, the telephone system is overloaded, therefore is not fit for purpose, appointments have to be made on the day, who thought that one up? making it not fit for purpose, therefore the practice is not available to those in need.
Tell us Silverdale what can we do to help the problem, avoiding the sick is not an option, Burgess Hill needs a fully functioning surgery, tell us how we can help.
