I went for a blood test at Christchurch Hospital today and have to say I was very impressed. Despite the age of the buildings, the whole area was spotlessly clean and the main corridor floor was so clean and shiny that you really could have eaten your dinner off it.
I checked in at the outpatient reception and the 2 receptionists were sharing a joke with another patient who was at the desk, and he went away grinning as a result. It was a pleasure to see the 2 receptionists smiling, laughing with their patients, and appearing to be so cheerful and friendly. I was quickly registered by the friendly receptionist and directed to the phlebotomy area.
After a very short wait in a waiting area which was well stocked with a variety of magazines etc. I was "processed" by a very pleasant and friendly phlebotomist quickly, efficiently and painlessly. Even the toilets on the way out were spotlessly clean, well stocked with paper towels etc. , and with no over-flowing bins.
Overall, a very brief visit and no major surgery involved but I was left with a very positive impression so thank you to everyone involved.
