"Care At Home, While At Home."

About: District Nursing / Crossgar District Nursing Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency Control

(as a relative),

In February 2024, the nurse from Crossgar Health Clinic (Sandra), called to my home to take regular bloods from my elderly mother.

My Mother took unwell while she was here, and an ambulance was called.  Sandra did not leave my Mothers side until she was feeling a bit better.  Lauren from the ambulance Service was on duty that day, she went above and beyond her call of duty and we will be indebted to her for care towards my Mother that entire day, not just until the paramedic arrived, but her entire shift.  I have never met anymore more caring that her (Lauren) at our time of need.

Sean the paramedic was also brilliant, who called to our home. He was caring and courteous to my Mum during his time with her.  I cannot thank these three people enough, who assisted my Mum, but also enabled her to stay at home.

Good morning jrey286,

Thank you for taking the time to share your valued feedback. We are always grateful to those who share their experiences of the services they have received. It was heartening to learn how Lauren went above and beyond her call of duty and how caring and courteous Sean was to your mum. As an organisation we are committed to consistently show compassion, professionalism, and respect for the patients we care for. I would like to share your feedback with the clinicians who attended to you on the day and in order to locate them I would require the following information:

o Date and approximate time of the incident

o The address the ambulance was dispatched to

If you are happy to share this information, I can be contacted at:

Maggie.hamilton@nias.hscni.net

I hope your mum is recovering well.

Kind regards,

Maggie

Dear jrey286

My name is Conor Campbell. My position is Senior Manager, Assurance and Improvement with a leading role in improving the service user experience - which includes responding to any person who tells their story through Care Opinion in order to help the organisation learn and improve.

Thank you for sharing the story of your mum’s experience in the care of Enhanced Care At Home Service.

It is great to learn that your quality of care and experience has been of the standard that we aspire to.

I have shared your positive feedback to Sandra and the team who greatly appreciate your kind words.

It is also very heartening to learn that Sean and Lauren from our excellent NI Ambulance Service looked after your mum so well.

I hope that your mum keeps well going forward.

Best wishes

Conor
