"I am incredibly pleased with the treatment that I received"

I would just like to give feedback on my recent treatment by the dermatology team at Doncaster Hospital.

After a referral by my GP in March 2023 I was seen by Dr Fernando (working under consultant Dr Lakshminaryan) in November 2023.

The wait was longer than I had hoped for but understand the difficulties that the NHS is experiencing since covid.

I felt that right from arriving at the hospital the staff were all courteous and professional.

Dr Fernando assessed my abnormal patch of skin and put me at ease.

After a second opinion by Dr Lakshminaryan, it was suggested that I have a minor operation to remove the area of skin.

This was arranged for and completed on the 27th of Feb 2024.

On arriving that day, I found no available car parking spaces at the hospital.

After driving around all the car parks and still not finding available space, decided with time running out, to park on a road near to Town.

It was lucky that I gave myself plenty of time as the delay in parking made my arrival just in time for the appointment slot.

The automated log in was not working but a nice member of staff booked me in.

Not long after Dr Fernando invited me in and discussed the procedure and outcomes.

Dr Fernando’s manner and professionalism was particularly good, as was the attending nurse.

The operation was comfortable and without pain.

I appreciated the background music and when “Don’t worry, be happy” was played as the operation began brought a smile to my face.

I had two blanket stitches / sutures with ten loops which looked very neat.

All my family and friends have commented on how neat the stitching is and suggested that the Doctor must have been trained as a Seamster before his medical training.

A week later, The GP nurse who removed the stiches, also complemented on the neatness of the stitching / sutures.

I am incredibly pleased with the treatment that I received at Doncaster and would like to Thank Dr Fernando and the dermatology team for all that they have done.
