"Probably the best hospital service I have ever attended."

I have to say that I think the dermatology department at Craigavon Area Hospital is probably the best hospital service I have ever attended. 

At my first appointment the nurse explained very thoroughly the treatment options and allowed me time to reflect and ask questions. I never felt rushed and she reinforced that it was completely my choice what I wanted to do.

I attended several different nurses during my treatment - in particular I have to mention the department Sister Carrie who I saw a couple of times. She was pulled by other staff for questions and the place was so busy, but I didn't mind this at all because when she was with me she gave her full attention to me and I never felt rushed.  In my opinion this is the way to run a service. 

The receptionist was always cheerful and I either got my appointment in the post or at the desk after my appointment.  The communication in this service has been excellent.

I have also got an open review now which I think is a great idea, because as a patient you can feel a bit worried about being discharged and it is reassuring that if you have any issues you can contact the department directly within the 12 months without having to go full circle through the GP. 

The place was spotless as well, the domestic working one day I attended, was so thorough in her work.  The only thing I would maybe ask for is that I had to provide a urine sample at each appointment and maybe if there was a way to be able to provide this as soon as you arrive rather than having to wait for the appointment time.
