My journey started by meeting my consultant Mr Cook, a remarkable man who had all ready fixed my left knee.
I received my date for the op. First I had my pre assessment. I was looked after by Nurse Nikki, a very nice and helpful lady.
On to my admission from the reception to all the nurses: everyone was so helpful. Clair was the nurse I saw the most, a very nice lady and very good at her job.
On to my op and Mr Cook and his remarkable team. I picked the procedure with the injection in the lower back. There was a monitor at the side of the operating table and you had the choice to watch. What was probably routine to the team was amazing to me.
All the staff were so helpful with my recovery. Mr Cook came to see me in the afternoon. I could have been home but developed a small bladder problem and had to wait till the next day.
It gave me a chance to meet the night shift who were also very nice and helpful and a chance for a few meals which I do enjoy. Who said hospital food was bad, I think we got a fair choice.
Thank you all for looking after me.
