My mum had a stroke in late 2023. I called 999 and an ambulance was here very quickly. She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The Professor on site drained the blood clot in Mum's neck and placed a stent in the artery. My Mum remained on Ward 5, Ninewells where she received excellent care. Her life was saved that day and she was given the best possible chance for survival. The whole team were absolutely wonderful. Despite being a very busy ward the staff always had time for us too.
Ten days later Mum was transferred to the Stroke Re-Hab unit in Perth Royal Infirmary. She received outstanding care from a very professional team from the Consultant, Kirsty and her team of doctors. The entire nursing staff and Health Care team were absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. The Physio Department were wonderful and special thanks to Andrew who lifted Mum's spirits whilst doing wonderful work with Mum.
I cannot speak highly enough of the nursing care Mum received on this unit. Every single nurse went above and beyond to give Mum the very best care they could. They encouraged Mum every day and gave her reassurance and helped keep her spirits up with positivity . Not only did Mum receive outstanding care, we as a family were treated wonderfully. Any questions we asked were answered promptly and we felt we could leave Mum each day knowing she was receiving excellent care and was in the right place to aid her recovery.
This unit is fantastic. Every single member of the staff deserves the utmost praise. It is a well oiled team who gel together to give the very, very best to all of their patients.
"A well-oiled team who gel together"
