"I received person-centred care"

About: Borders General Hospital / Endoscopy

(as a service user),

I was scheduled to have an Upper GI endoscopy at NHS Borders Eade Endoscopy Unit. I was nervous about an Upper GI endoscopy after having this procedure several years ago. The Eade Endoscopy Unit staff put me at my ease by sending detailed procedure information in advance and talking me through every step of the procedure on the day.

A detailed discharge information sheet was given after the procedure. The team and their communication throughout was excellent from start to finish. I felt that I was treated as an an individual and that I received person centred care. I would like to thank Sister Henderson and her team for their care

Dear asteropeqz94

Thank you for sharing your story.

Our endoscopy team work hard to ensure patients have all the information they need to proceed with the test. The named nurse supports each patient throughout their time in the department and to discharge, I am pleased to hear this put you at ease.

I have shared your story with Sister Henderson and the Endoscopy team, who appreciate your kind words. Thank you.

Best wishes

Louise
