I had not been a patient on this ward before, but was most impressed with the care given to me. I needed an ironinfusion and when I asked if I could lie downon the stretcher, they organised a bed (and my own room) immediately. A very big " thank you" to the doctor, staff nurse and Hca. I was given regular drinks, got a lovely sandwich...It almost felt like a hotel, the way I was treated. Thank you all so very much.

When it comes to medicine, ambulatory care has acheived the same sort of of transformation as day surgery has achieved. The aim is to ensure that admissions are avoided where that is not needed. Not only is that better for patients like you (in days gone by you may probably have been admitted for this proceedure), but it also means that hospital beds can be used for those who need them most. Having said all that, the Trust's medical ambulatory service is recognisd increasingly as being amongst the better performing in the region. Your experience is reflective of the feedback we get from many patients who find the service supportive, effective and, in some ways most importantly of all, caring and friendly.
