"We will never forget the amazing staff"

About: Oncology / Cancer Centre Ward 2A

(as a relative),

My mother was cared for in 2A for 2 weeks, and where do I start. The care she received was amazing, all of the staff were so kind, caring and respectful to our mummy & whole family.

She sadly passed away, surrounded by her family. The nurses - Ellen, Sister Amy, Grace, to name a few - were so compassionate towards my mummy. They looked after her every need day and night. Provided my mummy with analgesia regularly, and made her so comfortable, making her laugh everyday, playing music for her and keeping the spirits up for us a family.

The HCSW Mandy, Deidre (sorry I can’t remember all the names) were all so kind, every single one chatting to mum, helping us move my mummy. We cannot thank the staff here enough, they are true angels and we couldn’t have managed without them.

The palliative care nurse was wonderful, so attentive and met all of my mum's needs, adjusting her syringe driver to ensure she was comfortable. The ladies in the coffee shop Chat were so kind, providing a smile everyday on a difficult time. Nurse Joe was amazing, he supported us during my mum's final hours, preserving her dignity & reassured the whole family with his kind words and empathy.

Lastly, we want to thank the medical staff, SHO’s, Registrars & Dr Henry for their continued support and care towards my mummy. We will never forget the amazing staff in 2A.
