I suffered a pretty severe stroke in May 2023, and after approx 12 weeks of hospital care I was discharged to continue my rehabilitation at home.
Both my wife and I were unsure of what the next stages would be, but in only a few days I had been visited by the lead Occupational Therapist, who was excellent in informing me of the therapy that would be made available to me and the members of the team who would visit to help with my recovery.
Over the next several months several members of the team would visit for a mix of physio and occupational therapy. They helped me get up and about, stronger on my feet and introduced me to a local group of fellow stroke patients.
As well as the above I have also visited the team at Coathill for various physio and cognitive ability sessions. The staff have always been helpful and supportive, whether assisting me directly or showing me how I could effectively help myself.
On this last point - Loose cuff socks! I thank the physio who introduced them to me every day!
"The staff have always been helpful and supportive"
