Since July 2023 I have a weekly visit for Picc Line maintenance and bloods when required. Not having to travel to have this done is amazing and the district nurses - especially Amy - have been great. Not only do they do the necessary Picc Line job but they always check in on how I am doing.
Having a friendly face visit weekly is a boost for the week ahead.
Nothing is any trouble to these girls - rain, hail, snow or sunshine they are always here.
It has mostly been Amy visiting me, and Amy is a very jolly, chatty person and an excellent nurse.
Her attention to detail and standard of care and hygiene are 2nd to none.
Having the same person, Amy, each week is a very positive experience for me, it gives continuity and we both know what to expect.
Not long after I got my Picc Line there was an issue due to no venus return.
Lynn was on duty that day but she was immediately on the case and phoned Laurel house to get it sorted. Lynn did not stop there, I had a call from her that evening and the next day to check in on me. Going above and beyond her call.
I am thankful for the district nurse services I am receiving and hope that these nurses are rewarded well and looked after by their managers.
