"Amazing Care and Treatment -Emergency Dental Appiontment"

About: Glasgow Dental Hospital and School / Emergency Dental Treatment Centre Level 1 NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a service user),

I broke one of my back teeth. After being referred to the dental hospital by NHS 24 an appointment was arranged efficiently.

My appointment was with student dentist Abbie who was supported by one of her student peers (whose name I don’t remember). Later on in the appointment. I was sent for an X-ray on the 3rd floor of the hospital and this was nothing but efficient.   Both were supervised by Dr Forbes.

Abbie was exceptionally compassionate throughout. Like many would be, I was exceptionally nervous and had the start of root canal undertaken. She was so patient and  checked in regularly. She asked for a second opinion from Dr Forbes whenever she needed to and this was reassuring, as made me feel very at ease. When she struggled to get a dental dam installed she was apologetic, but explained why it was difficult due to it being at the back of my mouth and quite hard to secure onto a bracket. I have opted to have the rest of my treatment for root canal here due to how good an experience this was - thanks to Abbie.

Hi MrEN,

Many thanks for taking the time share your lovely feedback from your recent dental experience of your journey from NHS 24 to Glasgow Dental Hospital.

Firstly, I was sorry to hear that you were experiencing dental pain and understand how difficult this must have been for you attend the dental service as a nervous patient and the anxiety that can surround this type of visit.

It was very reassuring and refreshing to hear that the team helped with your experience demonstrating compassion, good communication while putting you at ease.

Thank you again for your feedback and I wish you the continued experience with the rest of your dental treatment. I will be sure to pass your feedback onto the dental team.

Best Wishes
