"Unsafe patient care"

About: Medway Maritime Hospital / Accident and emergency Medway Maritime Hospital / Cardiology

(as a service user),

I was admitted a few weeks ago after spending 18 hours in a corridor in A@E. There was a lack of care and no dignity, food & drink, toilet access, medication, oxygen or pain relief. I didn't get to see a nurse or doctor.

I felt I was in a war torn country as there was nothing and luckily I did not die. I eventually saw a consultant 2 days later who apologised, I was told they would find out why a patient with a serious heart condition - which could have ended in cardiac arrest - was not seen more quickly.

I am never going back to that place, as this was unsafe.

Kind regards,
