After a service user leaving detox with a 7 days prescription the unit took too long to get the discharge summary out to the GP. They received it 6 days later on the last day of the service user's detox unit prescription.
I had pre-warned the GP surgery it was going to arrive, spoke with them endless times , was not allowed to speak with a GP, they suggested I phone 111.
After ringing they wanted to help but needed a registered person to request a 3 day prescription as I could not be in person with the service user out of hours.
I contacted Change Grow Live Lead nurse Ben who took over the liaising for me, by the evening he had managed to get the 111 prescriber to agreed the 3 day prescription.
I just want to say a big thank you to Ben for his continue commitment and on going above and beyond working out of hours for CGL and our service user, I knew he would help.
Thank you again Ben as I can rest easier this weekend knowing the person will have what they need tomorrow.
