I would just like to pass on that the care I have been receiving at WestMARC since I had my amputation just over a year ago, has been wonderful. I feel listened to every time that I have been there to see the prosthetist, physiotherapist and the consultant.
My prosthetist is Lynne, and she deserves a medal for caring for me. I've needed several legs in the last year, but I also have very specific goals that she has helped me to achieve. Providing the right kind of liner for my prosthetic so that I could walk distances, and referring me to the consultant for a period of phantom pain I've been having. It doesn't matter what I come up with, she always has a way to solve the problem, and without any drama.
The physiotherapist, I think she's called Nikki, has also been great. She introduced me to mirror therapy which was quite emotional at first. But she is so knowledgeable about some of my symptoms and why I might be getting the phantom pain at this time.
Thank you WestMARC team for your wonderful care. I wouldn't be as independent without you.
