"Driver could not have been any better"

About: NHS Ayrshire & Arran Scottish Ambulance Service

(as a service user),

The driver I had on in September to take me from my home to the Orthopedic clinic was very good. He could not have been any better.

He helped me out of my house, closing the door behind him, and then making sure I got on the wee ambulance bus OK. I have had other drivers in the past but this man went the extra mile. He brought a wheelchair for me when we got to the hospital and took me right to the clinic. He was very kind.

I should add that the girl who brought me back home was also very good. She was talking away to me, carried my bags into the house and made sure I got right into the house OK.

Dear Dash 679

Thank you for letting us know how well you were looked after by our Patient Transport Service staff. A wee bit of kindness from the people who are caring for us can make all the difference.

I hope you are keeping well. In the meantime, I'll send your feedback over to our South West Division, where the staff who attended you are based. They'll be delighted to know that you took the time to let others know about them going the extra mile.

Dear Dash 679

Many thanks for using the Patient Opinion site, providing such an important reminder that there are many things that don't cost anything but have a huge impact in helping people to feel care for - a shining example of the way in way person-centred values & behaviours are informing the work of our colleagues in the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Best wishes

Craig White
