My father was admitted into the Stroke Rehabilitation Ward 56, after suffering a major stroke in November 1st 2023 and was discharged on 1st March 2024.
I am so grateful to all the Nursing Staff, Auxiliary Staff, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Team and Domestic Staff for the care and support my father received. Their genuine smiles and caring attitude had a positive affect on my father's mental health and wellbeing. Thanks to their perseverance and patience, my father was able to walk again. The patience, care and commitment from all the Nursing and Auxiliary staff on a daily basis was outstanding.
We as a family can not thank the NHS staff enough for giving my father his life back. We felt supported and were provided with appropriate advice and help to cope over the last four months.
The friendly staff who engage patients in art therapy on Monday and Tuesdays, play an important role in patients rehabilitation.Kate the activity coordinator is bubbly, enthusiastic and works hard by positively engaging with patients and their families We built such a close bond and good working relationship with all the staff in ward 56, it was sad to say goodbye .
"We built such a close bond"
