"Fantastic care received"

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the especially nice surgeon, Ms Crielly, her very helpful secretary - Jackie - and the lovely staff of the reception & treatment room at the theatre department, Queen Margaret Hospital, NHS Fife, for the fantastic care they collectively provided to me at my recent admission for minor surgery. 

Jackie, thank you so much for ensuring my procedure and aftercare didn't clash with my upcoming holiday, and thank you for checking I'd be ok to go on holiday afterwards, so thoughtful.

On the day of the surgery, each and every staff member genuinely seemed to have my safety and comfort in mind at all times, I noted the kind explanation re why I'd need to be weighed (thank you Donna), the staff were attuned to the fact this can make people uncomfortable, I was helped with my gown to ensure my dignity, and Ms Crielly was so careful not to stick a drape to my hair.

I could hear the safety checks being made, my frequent identity checks and my vital signs being monitored by lovely staff - I'm sorry not to know your names (had my eyes closed a fair bit!)

John, thank you so much for offering tea and coffee throughout, checking in on everyone in the waiting area, lovely people skills making everyone more relaxed. The cheerful yet still professional personalised hats helped make me more relaxed also, a great touch, so easy to identify staff (when your eyes are open!) and allowing each patient to choose the music played during the procedure, another nice touch!

So many other aspects of the care given on that morning seemed exceptional and yet I'm aware they will treat each and every patient in this way, day on day, which is a skill. 

Thank you all again so much for a wonderful NHS experience, you have my sincere gratitude.
