About: Ayrshire & Arran Community Services / Addiction services Community Mental Health Team / Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) - South Ayrshire General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as a service user),

I have EUPD Otherwise known as EID Borderline or BPD. Having been abused as a child and later becoming a drug addict, I sought help from both Addiction Services and ACMHS.

I feel totally failed by ACMHS, they had little or no ability to deal with my disorder to the extent that when I had a crisis they failed to provide support. They then opted to discharge me - as did my GP.

Fortunately Addiction Services still support me.

I am so sorry to hear of the difficulties you have faced and that you have had such a negative experience.

The Primary Care team are unable to comment on your experience with Addiction Services or ACMHS. However, we can liaise with your GP Practice to make them aware of your comments and feedback. To do this, please can you send an email to HSCPAdmin@east-ayrshire.gov.uk (marked for the attention of Primary Care) providing your details and the name of the GP Practice you are registered with.

If you wish to remain anonymous, we can feed back your comments to the GP Practice for their awareness and learning.

I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and am so very sorry it has not been positive on this occasion.

I have previously had responses that I found to be defensive from metal health services, my GP and NHS Ayrshire and Arran.

I see no point in wasting further time trying to point out that they have collectively failed me when it comes to Mental Health.

I feel there should be more focus on identifying why we have such a high level of drug related deaths.
