"Three year wait"

(as a parent/guardian),

Three year wait for Autism/ADHD, my child has already been knocked back over the span of three years 3 times and her mental health has suffered. She is developing an eating disorder and self harm to cope, and no prevention. Sickening that this is what we call care.

Thank you very much for your feedback on the long waits for ADHD/Autism assessment within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) within NHS Lothian. I am very sorry for the length of wait that you and your child have had.

As Care Opinion is a public forum, I am unable to address your concerns directly and unable to look into your child's care and treatment specifically, however, if you would like to contact the Patient Experience Team (PET) to raise a formal complaint, then we can ensure that your experience is fully investigated, and a response is issued to you. Please be assured that although we are unable to provide you with a patient centered response, your feedback has been shared with the Senior Management Team directly to pick up with the CAMHS service.
