"Being in A&E until midnight"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as the patient),

Scared, anxious, vulnerable I got sent in the evening and didn’t come home til the early hours of the morning. I had had an allergic reaction to a sleeping tablet I was on and they took loads of tests and I nearly had to stay there on my own without my mum which made me terrified of what would happen if I did but then they said I could go home and I just saw the gp in the morning instead.

Dear Josie25

Thank-you for taking the time to share your experience. I Hope you have recovered from your allergic reaction. I'm pleased to see in the story summary that you found the staff friendly and kind. I note that you felt the waiting area and waiting times could be improved upon. We are upgrading our waiting area and are in the process of trying to get new seating.

Thank-you again for the feedback - only through feedback can we make improvements.

kind regards

Dr A Kinnon Co -Clinical Lead in EM
