"Difficult to find"

About: Marjorie Warren Unit

(as a relative),

When it is already stressful and you have to bring your elderly mother who is wheelchair bound to an appointment here, the signage is appalling!

In my opinion, the map you send out is useless.

There appear to be no signs at all for the unit and it is tucked away.

The map is only helpful if you actually know the hospital. The departments need to be in alphabetical order on the map so you can see where you are when passing and can match this to the map.

Otherwise lovely staff and good experience

However, there needs to be a rule about whether relatives are allowed in. I wasn’t and my mum is deaf and over 90yrs but another patient who appeared to have capacity and was younger was allowed to have their partner in. It seems to depend on the nurse caring for the patient.

Good morning,

Thank you for taking time to share your experience with us following the recent visit to Marjory Warren Unit with your Mother.

I have passed on your feedback to our estates team who are undergoing a piece of work to look at improving wayfinding across the hospital. This will include the signage and maps. I am sure this feedback will be helpful to them as the experience of people accessing the hospital is important to guide change.

I have also shared your feedback with the Lead Nurse and Matron for the team so they can ensure staff are consistent in their approach regarding relative support in appointments.

Kind regards,

Patient Experience Team
