"Angels of ward"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / West of Scotland Major Trauma Ward (ward 1c)

(as a service user),

My staff were amazing, I was well looked after!

I was transferred down here to ward 1c with 2 porters, what a laugh we had, sorry guys I didn't get your names!

I have given a write up on 10 C and the is much the same review for 1C.

Roll call as follows -

Caitlin - charge nurse

Claire - SN

Sarah - SN

Katrina- SN

Oliver (Ollie) HCSW

Rashed HCSW

Jess SN (also up on 10 C)

Lauren SN

Mel SN

Angus SN

Rachel C  (missed your job title sorry)

Carol   (missed your job title sorry)

Katie   (missed your job title sorry)

Donna (missed your job title sorry)

Maggie, SN

Sinnead HCSW

Lynsey O/T

Nicole SN

Leigh SN

Sally HCSW

Elizabeth HCSW

Kerry SN with the big laugh lol we had a good laugh and some nice talks in the short time we had but it was nice!

Jackie, you were fab, and the other Jackie and sorry the other 2 from the pain team. Getting control of that pain was the start of getting me home!

Paulina HCSW you let me know you wouldn't see me before I went home, that was lovely for me.

Cara HCSW you remember to have time for you 2 jobs and in college! You're doing good!

Michelle catering, moved to 1 C from 10 C nearly the same time! If it wasn't for this lady I would not have ate very much!

Jordann physiotherapist and specialist in the Llizarov frame. You gave me confidence, and helped me on the final journey out the hospital! Getting me on my feet in crutches when I wasn't sure I could do it! Getting me to the stairs and up and down them in the crutches, man I was scared, but you helped me along with Sinnead student, occupational therapist, helping on the stairs too!

Please don't think because I've not wrote anything next to your name that you didn't do nothing special for me, you all played a special part in a majorly hard and difficult time in my life to to start me on my way back to the long road of recovery! I have made my promise to pop in and see you all on my regular visits to clinic, it won't be the first visit as I'll be reliant on patient transport and time will be limited for me I think.

The care you all gave to me from ambulance to porters all the way up to named and non named staff on this and 10 C's review made a real difference to the start of my recovery and can't thank you all enough for what you done for me! I know you all say I was one of the best patients you have had but I know I can be a real pain when in pain and sometimes cheeky! I apologise for this too!

Please if we can get my review to the staff on the ward1C I will be very grateful for this because I believe in saying thank you, it can mean lots to the receiver of the thanks!

On behalf of the OT and physiotherapist staff, thank you for your kind words. I'm delighted to hear you were reassured by the staff to achieve your goals. I will pass onto the relevant staff and good luck with the rest of your rehabilitation journey.

Dear hotelsb93,

Thank you for this fantastic feedback. It seems you had a huge team of angels on your road to recovery!

To take the time to do this, particularly naming so many individuals was lovely to see and very much appreciated.

I have passed this feedback on to Lead Nurse for 1c and 10c.

I wish you well with your onward recovery.

Best wishes,

Debbie
