My elderly aunt was taken into Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy in November with an infection which was causing delirium. At that stage she had no awareness of her surroundings or even who she was. She had a holdall with her house keys, overnight clothes and her mobile phone. She was admitted into Admissions 1, then eventually Ward 41 and finally Ward 6.
Her bag apparently went missing in Admissions 1. All 3 wards were unaware of the whereabouts of this bag. Eventually I visited all 3 wards, checked Lost Property but with no luck. I was advised to fill in a form and hand it to a senior manager. I also was advised to email Patient Experience. This was completed in December 2023. I received 1 email back telling me who would be my support officer and a reference number. To date I have heard nothing from the names person or the aptly named Patient Experience. I then emailed again and this time I copied in a manager, but to date have still received no communication.
I too work in Care and I am disheartened by receiving no communication or care from any of these departments. I also believe on this occasion that the 6 core values of the NHS have been broken and ignored.
Could someone please get in touch with me to help me resolve this for my Aunt.
