"Treated with care and respect throughout"

About: Victoria Hospital / Renal

Attended my yearly renal outpatient appointment recently at Victoria hospital, Kirkcaldy.

Outpatients department was very busy but I was kept informed of delays, treated with care and respect throughout, from the HCSW, the ANP and the student who took my bloods. I did not catch the student's name but she was excellent in her mannerisms, her technique and her confidence.

The ANP kept me informed about my recent blood tests and is getting me access to the patient system so I can access my blood results. Before I even left the department the ANP had came back and told me she had emailed the renal IT department to get me access.

Overall a very happy experience and credit to everyone in the outpatients department at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy

Dear Lozzer

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of Patient Experience. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback, so thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. I am sorry for the delay in you receiving a response.

I am pleased you had a positive experience at the renal outpatients department and being kept informed about delays has clearly helped. Communication is absolutely key as this scenario demonstrates.

Thank you again for sharing your story, best wishes and take care, Siobhan

Dear Lozzer

Sorry for our delay in getting back to you, I am pleased you have had such a positive experience within our clinic areas. I look after Outpatients and Renal so will pass on your kinds words to both teams.

As Siobhan has mentioned communication is key and it is really good to hear this has worked well. Hopefully your access is now in place and you have your information at hand.
