"Before, during and after surgery"

About: University Hospital Ayr / Day Surgery University Hospital Ayr / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a service user),

I recently had an ankle operation which was undertaken within the day surgery unit.

I wish to thank and have acknowledged the following staff who in my opinion have been exceptional.

I am very grateful for the professionalism, humour, humility and compassion I observed and experienced before, during and after my procedure. They are a credit to themselves, their respective teams and the NHS.

(Apologies for titles and designations missing from some of the following staff)

Theatre team:

Ms Tie

Dr Vidion

ODP Jonathan

SN Heather

Rebecca

Stephanie

Megan

DSU ward:

Irene

Nicola

Recovery:

Vivitha

I’d especially like to have acknowledged Mr Obi, Dr Brown and Ms Crawford. Who not only embody the above described values and behaviours, but have really helped put me at ease since coming to the attention of their team and department.

My deepest thanks to you all.

Dear pavoxx56

With apologies for the delay in responding to your lovely feedback, I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your healthcare experience about the Day Surgery Unit, University Hospital Ayr with us.

I am glad to hear that you received such kind, professional and compassionate care from our staff and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments to the wider Team in the Department and in particular with all of the staff you have taken the time to mention by name. It’s often the small things that can make such a difference, such as a kind word or a smile and I am glad that our ward staff were able to put you at ease whilst you were under their care.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients. I know they will be delighted to receive this feedback and it will be really encouraging for them to know that you felt so well supported by them.

Please accept my best wishes for your ongoing recovery and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
