I was referred here a while back and the doctor I was under in the colposcopy department was so lovely.
Sadly late last year I was diagnosed with cancer, I was informed I needed an operation, but the doctor I was seeing couldn't do this, so referred to a consultant. That's when the problems started.
I saw the consultant who told me I would be coming in within the next 2 weeks and I would need to cancel everything in my diary. I did the consent etc.... then the wait started.
I had to chase my pre op, I was booked as a telephone call, when the nurse called me she couldn't understand why I was booked as a telephone call as I needed a face to face appointment as I will be an impatient for a few days, not a day case, & also because of my underlying health conditions.
I then had to wait over 2 weeks for the face to face appointment (which is just ridiculous). I was told I would be there about 45 mins. I was there a total of 4.5 hours! It seemed there was no organisation at all, no one knew what was going on, and a total lack of management knowing who was who and being seen, total joke.
I am still chasing my date, considering I should have been in and out by now, to be informed could be April/May until I'm booked in, I don't get it!
My consultant was telling me how urgent this operation was and how quick I needed the surgery, and yet now whoever I contact (you are lucky if you get hold of someone) but when you do, no one knows what's happening.
I'm really concerned and just don't know what to do as it seems they don't seem bothered at all.
"Awful care and waiting times"
