"I feel like I don't matter"

About: University Hospital Monklands University Hospital Monklands / Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (Ward 18)

(as the patient),

Having suffered with long covid and POTS for a number of years, the covid rehab team wrote to my GP suggesting a review of my medication as I'm still having debilitating symptoms. My GP agreed things needed reviewed and wrote to cardiology.

The response back is absolutely not okay, basically saying that I'm on medication and they don't see POTS patients and wont be suggesting anything further to help me. Now on the POTS uk website there is a mountain of information on different medications for POTS and it seems clear to me that there's no care about the impact this condition has on patients. They won't even consider physically seeing me to try to help.

It's too specialist an area for my GP to solely make changes, they will only take guidance from cardiology, and cardiology won't suggest anything or see me - it's not good enough.

My life is ruined by this condition and the one speciality that can possibly help me are blocking any attempt at help. It's just not good enough from the cardiology team at Monklands. They should either be referring outwards of area to a specialist if they feel they can't do anything or least appointing to be seen so a doctor can actually see me, speak to me and then make judgments. I feel like I don't matter and it's really poor care for patients.
