"feel like I'm in limbo"

About: Trust-wide Neurology Services / Epilepsy

(as the patient),

I have been trying to get in touch with my epilepsy nurse via the number i was provided. I have currently been on the phone from 9am and been cut off 3 times. All i get is operators are busy, please hold. I understand services are under extreme strain but having to go through all this for over an hour is unacceptable. I feel very stressed as i have been very unwell for a week so need to speak to a nurse. I feel like i am in limbo and don't know what to do.

I am sorry to read you have had difficulty in getting through to the epilepsy advice line at the Belfast Trust.. At times it can be extremely busy with clients trying to contact us, I do appreciate this is frustrating for you. I am sorry you are feeling unwell and stressed. Can I respectably ask if you can’t get through on the advice line if you could possibly contact your consultant’s secretary and explain you can’t get through on the advice line and they can contact the team and one of us will phone you back.

The advice line is open 09:00hrs to 12:00hrs Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays

Yes I totally understand that but it is frustrating when you hold for 40 minutes get cut off, 20 mins same thing and so on for 2 hours.
