"Excellent staff members"

About: New Victoria Hospital / 23 Hour ward (ward3)

(as a relative),

Visiting my grandmother in ward 3 at the New Victoria Hospital was a breath of fresh air in comparison to prior experiences of other hospitals.

Tracy the staff nurse and Tricia the auxiliary went out of their way to talk to me and my two young children and make us feel welcome.

Moreover, Tracy was the first nurse caring for my grandmother in any hospital (she has been a frequent flier recently) who has actually understood what was going on with her care and could explain to me what investigations were being carried out and why (with my grandmother's consent). She was also very concerned with the overall picture and looking at my grandmother in a holistic way, which was reassuring to see.

Staff were visible on the ward and held eye contact in a way which made them appear approachable - again a far cry from past experiences.

Massive thank you to Tracy and Tricia for taking time out of their day to welcome me to their ward and for their compassionate care of my grandmother.

Dear MummyMM20192022

Thanks you for taking the time to feedback and relaying your thanks to the staff in ward 3 at the New Victoria Hospital following your visit with your grandmother who was a patient with us.

I am so pleased that the team made you and children welcome on the ward and they were accessible for you. The words you use to describe the care your grandmother received in the ward such as holistic, understanding and compassion are the standard of care the ward tries to emulate every day, so I am delighted to read that you and your grandmother felt that. I will ensure your generous feedback is shared with the entire Ward 3 staff, but especially with the staff you mentioned individually, Tracy and Tricia, both are excellent nurses and are a credit to our team.

Feedback from our patients and relatives certainly keeps our team striving to deliver best care they can every day- thank you.

Sending your grandmother well wishes.

Dear MummyMM20192022

Thank you so much for taking the time to tell us about your experience of visiting your grandmother in Ward 3 at the New Victoria Hospital.

I was very encouraged to hear how the staff took the time to welcome you and your children to the ward. This must have been a massive relief to you in what must have been a very difficult and stressful time for you and your family.

I was pleased to hear the care and treatment your grandmother received from Tracy and Tricia in particular was to a high standard and they kept you informed of your grandmother's care throughout.

I will be happy to pass on your thanks to the team who I'm sure will be touched to receive such glowing feedback about their service.

Kind regards

Kevin
