"Podiatry nail surgery in Perth Drumhar"

About: Perth & Kinross Community Podiatry

(as the patient),

Robyn and Jackie were both absolutely amazing. I felt very at ease and they explained what was going to happen very clearly. The surgery itself was painless and very quick. Robyn and Jackie were very professional and are a credit to the NHS.

Everyone I have dealt with in the NHS has been extremely helpful and professional. The only criticism I have is the wait times for appointments. I had an infected toe for over three months whilst I waited for appointments. I have been on 5 rounds of antibiotics, which has been in vain as the underlying issue was the ingrown toenail which could obviously not be remedied by medication alone.

However, I would just like to highlight, again, how professional I found the staff members that I did interact with to be. I was nervous about having my nail partially removed, but Robyn and Jackie made it a pleasant experience with their professional manner and skill in which they carry out their work with.

This was at Drumhar Health centre, chiropody podiatry.

Thanks Steyb78 for your very helpful feedback.

I was delighted to hear that your partial nail removal went so well and that the care you have received from Robyn and Jackie was of the standard we always aspire to achieve. I will of course pass your positive comments on to them.

I appreciate and acknowledge your frustration with the time taken to deal with this problem. Our service always strives to treat patients as quickly as we can but at times this can be delayed for a number of reasons.

As part of our Service effort to contribute to Antimicrobial Stewardship (I.e. efforts to educate and persuade prescribers of antibiotics to follow evidence-based prescribing, in order to stem overuse, and thus reduce resistance), we know that if we can be as efficient and effective in making the journey from the problem beginning to surgery being undertaken (if required), then this can only have a positive impact on patient outcomes. I would therefore like to inform you that we are in the process of conducting an internal audit of our Nail Surgery service with a key goal of Improvement. We will of course use your experience where possible to contribute to this.

Many thanks once again for taking the time to contact us.
